I am a retired art teacher.  I taught art K-12 in the public schools for 32 years. Now I have the luxury of pursuing my artistic goals full-time.  My focus for most of my art experience has been painting and drawing.  For the past 8 years, however, I have been working primarily as a ceramic artist.  Instead of working on a 2D surface of paper or canvas, I now paint imagery on a 3D surface constructed from a variety of hand-built clay techniques.  My clay forms are embellished with numerous themes: indigenous fish from the Great Lakes region, local floral motifs, landscapes, and mythical or biblical narratives. For the most part my art pieces are one of a kind.  I do, however, make dinner ware sets upon request with imagery or glazing of the customer's choosing.
